B. Goal of integrated land management in semi-arid agro-ecosytem using native [endangered] cattle breed in tandem with best sustainable practices of land management to create self-supporting rainfed agro-ecosystem with muliple goals:

1. value addition to labor of small farmer/subsistence farmer FAMILIES: a teaching farm containing the material & pedagogical resources for the surrounding community in the form of cattle & plant germplasm, farming technology, food science and child health & maternal health resources: e.g. greens, yellow root vegetables & fruit production year-round for blindness prevention, production of value-added dairy products for family income growth, comprehensive, INTEGRATED nimal-plant-soil-human vision.

2. Conservation & enhancement of soil fertility & prodctivity under hot, arid tropical condtions without dependence on market-based petroleum-rich inputs.
3. the Kamdhenu Project. Like all modern people, it is an agricultural project, SCIENCE & SOCIOLOGY oriented, focusing on ENVIRONMENT, MATERNAL & CHILD NUTRITION.
an integrated cattle & intensive horticulture project in a semi-arid region with very hot summers where conventional crop cultivation is risky owing to monsoon failure, with these goals

A) Use cattle products + fruit for child & maternal health + raise family income with value-added products like poro pitha.

B) Native breeds of cattle: resistant to heat, disease, types of fodder available & to preserve biodiversity

C) Natural precipitation + agroforestry to grow multipurpose fodder/fruit crops as advised by CAZRI, Jodhpur, & IGFRI, Jhansi;

D) Soil quality & fertility preservation through green manures & cattle products: a self-contained system.Soil Carbon, Agricultural Prodctivity & Project Kamadhenu

AGRICULTURE:
A. A policy to improve irrigation coverage of the district through multiple funding sources & tagging of various government schemes to enhance irrigation coverage in low irrigated & drought prone areas on a priority basis. The following blocks are mentioned in order of their priority. They are: Bangomunda, Titilagarh, Muribahal, Tureikela & Belpada.

B. Functional government employment programmes like NREGA in all the blocks to arrest migration to urban centres, particularly in the lean season (December to May of next year).
