PRABHUPADA: the most sinful activity, according to Vedic information--to kill a child, to kill a woman, to kill a brahmana, and to kill a cow. They have to be protected. So this should be very carefully done. Stri-sudra-dvija-bandhunam. Stri, they are considered either as innocent as the child or as innocent as the animal. So they should be given always protection. So here it is said that tasmat puraiva asu iha papa-niskrtau. Very busy. We do not know when is, when we shall die. But we must know, we have committed so many sinful activities; therefore before the next death, yateta mrtyor avipadyatatmana. Mrtyu: we have to die. Before death, we have to make the atonement. "Otherwise," Sukadeva Gosvami says, "as I have already described the different position of hellish condition of life, one has to suffer."

So Rsabhadeva is teaching us what is the value of brahminical culture. Human society without brahminical culture is animal society. We offer our obeisances to the Lord, namo brahmanya-devaya go-brahmana-hitaya ca. Krsna is first of all interested to see whether in the society the brahmana and the cow is properly respected. Namo brahmanya-devaya go-brahmana-hitaya ca. His first business is to see that the brahmana and cow is being properly honored. Then jagad-dhitaya. Then automatically the whole world will be peaceful. This secret of success they do not know. Nobody is prepared to become brahmana, and so far cow protection is concerned, it is in the oblivion. This is the whole world position. Therefore it is in chaotic condition. It must be, because this is animal society. When these two things are neglected, it is animal society, and then other animal qualities and paraphernalia follow.


So our program is to live there, depending on agriculture and cow, cow protection and agriculture. That should be the economic solution. And peacefully be in Krsna consciousness, chant Hare Krsna. That is the Vrndavana scheme. Yuktahara-viharasya yogo bhavati siddhidah. This human form of life is not meant for increasing artificial needs. We should be satisfied just to maintain the body and soul together, and balance time we should save for enhancing our Krsna consciousness, or spiritual consciousness, so that after this body we haven't got to make another material body, but we go back to home, back to Godhead. That should be the motto of human life.

Prabhupada: Thank you very much. So we are worshiper of the original Absolute Personality of Godhead, Govindam. Govindam. Go means senses, go means cow, and go means land. And vindam, vindam means who gives pleasure--the pleasure potency of all these three things, senses, cows, and the land. The land. Sarva-loka-mahesvaram, in the Bhagavad-gita it is said. The proprietor of all land, the maintainer of all land, to give pleasure to the people of all land, is Govinda, Krsna. Govindam. And He is the protector, and pleasing to the cows. You have seen many pictures of Krsna, He is loving cow. Why cow is loved by Him? Why not another animal? There are many other animals. Why particularly cow? Because cow protection is the most important business of the human society. In offering obeisances to Krsna, it is said, namo brahmanya-devaya go-brahmana-hitaya ca: "I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Person, who is the protector of the brahmanas and the cows." Go-brahmana-hitaya ca jagad-dhitaya. The first qualification is that He protects the brahmanas and the cows. Next, He protects the whole world. Jagad-dhitaya krsna. And He is Krsna, govindaya, this Govinda.

Brahmana-ksatriya-vaisya. Vaisya means the productive class of men. Their business is how to produce food for all the society and give protection to the cows. Krsi-goraksya-vanijyam vaisya-karma svabhava-jam. There must be sufficient milk in the human society. If you drink more milk and milk products, then your brain will be very sharp. You will understand things very nicely, corectly. Therefore milk is very important. In the Vedic sastra cow protection is recommended. Why? Because milk is very, very important thing. What about the meat-eaters? If there are meat-eaters, they can eat other animals, but especially they should not eat the cow. They should give them protection. So because the vaisyas, the first class, second class, third class, they are meant for producing food for the society... So milk is very important. Therefore it is recommended, krsi-goraksya-vanijyam. And if there is excess, they can trade.

The whole world must learn from Krsna how to live happily without scarcity simply by producing food grains and giving protection to the cows

sah--he (Kartaviryarjuna); vai--indeed; ratnam--a great source of wealth; tu--indeed; tat--the kamadhenu in the possession of Jamadagni; drstva--by observing; atma-aisvarya--his own personal opulence; ati-sayanam--which was exceeding; tat--that; na--not; adriyata--appreciated very much; agnihotryam--in that cow, which was useful for executing the agnihotra sacrifice; sa-abhilasah--became desirous; sa-haihayah--with his own men, the Haihayas

Jamadagni was more powerful than Kartaviryarjuna because of performing the agnihotra-yajna with clarified butter received from the Kamadhenu.
Not everyone can be expected to possess such a cow. Nonetheless, an ordinary man may possess an ordinary cow, give protection to this animal, take sufficient milk from it, and engage the milk to produce butter and clarified ghee, especially for performing the agnihotra-yajna. This is possible for everyone. Thus we find that in Bhagavad-gita Lord Krsna advises go-raksya, the protection of cows. This is essential because if cows are cared for properly they will surely supply sufficient milk. Therefore this instruction given by Lord Krsna--go-raksya--is extremely meaningful. The whole world must learn from Krsna how to live happily without scarcity simply by producing food grains (annad bhavanti bhutani) and giving protection to the cows (go-raksya). Krsi-go-raksya-vanijyam vaisya-karma svabhavajam. Those who belong to the third level of human society, namely the mercantile people, must keep land for producing food grains and giving protection to cows. This is the injunction of Bhagavad-gita. In the matter of protecting the cows, the meat-eaters will protest, but in answer to them we may say that since Krsna gives stress to cow protection, those who are inclined to eat meat may eat the flesh of unimportant animals like hogs, dogs, goats and sheep, but they should not touch the life of the cows, for this is destructive to the spiritual advancement of human society.

The peopl of this age are inclined towards industrial enterprises for comfortable living, but they refuse to endeavor to execute devotional service, by which they can achieve the ultimate goal of life by returning home, back to Godhead. Unfortunately, as it is said, na te viduh svartha-gatim hi visnum durasaya ye bahir-artha-maninah. People without spiritual education do not know that the ultimate goal of life is to go back home, back to Godhead.

Forgetting this aim of life, they are working very hard in disappointment and frustration (moghasa mogha-karmano mogha jnana vicetasah). The so-called vaisyas--the industrialists or businessmen--are involved in big, big industrial enterprises but they are not interested in food grains and milk. However, as indicated here, by digging for water, even in the desert, we can produce food grains; when we produce food grains and vegetables, we can give protection to the cows; while giving protection to the cows, we can draw from them abundant quantities of milk; and by getting enough milk and combining it with food grains and vegetables, we can prepare hundreds of nectarean foods. We can happily eat this food and thus avoid industrial enterprises and joblessness.
Agriculture and cow protection are the way to become sinless and thus be attracted to devotional service. Those who are sinful cannot be attracted by devotional service.

So our civilization is based on that way. You require food. That's fact. Therefore Krsna says, annad bhavanti bhutani. You produce your food. Anywhere you can produce your food. The land is enough land. In Australia you have enough land. In Africa you have enough land, uncultivated. No. They'll not produce food. They will produce coffee and tea and slaughter animals. This is their business. I understand that in your country animals are slaughtered and exported for trade. Why export? You produce your own food and be satisfied. Why you are after that piece of hundred dollars paper? Produce your own food and eat sumptuously, be healthy and chant Hare Krsna. This is civilization. This is civilization.

OUR VEDIC TEACHING IS THIS, KI SAB KO BRAHMANATVA ME LE KAR AO. BRAHMANATVA janmagata jaidad nahi hai parantu jivan sadhana tatha sadhya laksana hai. Yah hi Arya varta hai:

To sab log ko hi brahman ban ne ki prayatna karne padega. Safalta ayega, thoda ya bahut, lekin lakshya woh hi ek hai: brahmanatva. Gau seva iss liye mahatva purna hai, bahut karan ha, par ek karan hai, ki gomata de deti hai,, kuch waas mang lati nahi. iss ANULOM-VILOM DANA PARAMITA ki SADHANA bahut mahatva purna hai. 6 paramita hai ; vyanjana varna ke 16th hai Sri Sri Radhikaji, 17 hai Sri Prajnaparamita, 18th yani "da" hai guhyatiguhya Bhuvaneshvari ki sanketika roop>. 25 th varna "M" pung varna; sab jod kar, #1, "k'' ke sath aur {"akah" svavarne dirghah} iss sutra anusar chalkar Shivasutra jala malini rachana karke, matrka ke dekh dekh kar yeh hi pantha.

Bhagavatam (10.84.13) points out those identifications that trouble jiva-cetana: Yasyätma-buddhih kunape tri-dhatuke: “I am this body—this bag of material elements. Sva-dhih kalaträdisu: “hamara log, children, family, society.” Bhauma ijya-dhih: “Aur mera hi land is sacred, jahan mei janam liya hoon. I shall die for this land—my country. I shall sacrifice everything for nationalism.”

Sri Chaitanya ne kah rahe hain, "Aradhyo bhagavan vrajesa-tanayas tad-dhäma vrndävanam.”

Agar kuch bhautik roop sey pyar karna hai , to sirf Krsna aur unke sanga-upanga, go-dhan-aadi se karo. Agar koi vishesh bhumi-khand sey rishta banana hai, to vrndravanam sey banao, aur kuch sey nahi.

Hamare parampara mey iss shabda, VRNDAVAN ko iss prakar mana jata hai: TULASIVANA, MATA TULASI DEVI ka VANA tatha GO-CHAARAN BHUMI. So, where there is abundance of tulasi plants which are WORSHIPPED daily as VISIBLE presence of GOD or SHRIMATI RADHIKA''s LILAVILAS, + abundant food plants that make cows + stri-shishu-dvija-shudranam happy, thus making us their bandhu or servitors, then that is goal achieved.

Lekin. sab baatein sab log ko ke pas nahin prakash karna chahiye. Paschatya bhavapanna log se in sab Bharatiya dharmik tathya ekdum gupta rakhna chahiye, kyonki unka samskara sampoorna viparita hai. Aur, kuch Bharatiya log va shubhhanudhyayiyon sey jyaada tar scientific goals bhi gupta rakhna chahiye, kyonki unka samskar dharmik hai, KAMADHENU.org sey, funding tatha support ke liye. Aur bhi log jaroor hongey jinsey samajik tatha shishu-mangal drsti-kone bahut aadaraniya mahsoos hoh payengey.

Yeh sab shathata nahi parantu UPAYA KAUSHALYAM matra. Ruci & samskar bhed samajh kar vrhattar samaj se muqabla karna buddhiman ka chinha hai.

Aisi tarah nana drsti-kone ke logon ki sahanubhuti udrek kar ke iss Parikalpana ke sahayak bananey padega, long term ke liye. They must become willing & devoted partners, bringing their own creative ideas & resources to the table, if the Project is to have a life ofits own over time. No one of us can ever be smart enough or capable enough of lending the Project long-term viability. Only the brains, hands & hearts of many joined together can do the needful.

I will end here today. Please think through & critique without hesitation what I sent you. Although I am very Indian in most ways, I am very American when in comes to executing projects: no formality, no false sense of being offended etc. For me, the project rules supreme, its success is greater than any personality involved. This often upsets Indians, who want to have their comfort zones preserved INTACT. Nahi hota bhai saheb, koshto na korile Keshto miley na.

Aami boli chhado chhado, Keshto nahi chhadey! Koi kaam mey haath laganey sey, bahut aapad aa jaata hai, Keshto aap k tod daale hai, pariksha karte hain nana kathore upaya sey. Kanha-r piriti chandan-er riti : Krishna ka sneha chandan ki riti anusaar, jitna ragadkar tod daaltey hain, utnay hi bhakta ka saurabh nikal lete hain. Bhakta uss wakt nahin samajh pate hain, chilla kar kahte hain, CHODO, CHODO, MUJHE, BAHUT HO GIYA, AUR NAHI SAMBHAL SAKTA HOON, lekin, Krishna ney nahin chodta uss wakt. Yeh bhi soch lena chahiye, aagey sey!

Ek dum ghar sey nikal kar, sab sey dushmani bana kar, keval ekanta bana kar, tab chod dente hain. Is liye bhai, sabdhan! Dono nau sey nahi chala ja sakta hai! Krishna hai SARVANASHA! Sab laukik asha man-samman ekdum kha deti hai woh KALIKRISHNA. Kalau jAgarti Krishna kalau jAgarti Kalika.
