Dear Sir,

With a warm regard,
I am writing to you on behalf of KAMDHENU, a registered Public Charity organization operating from ShriVrindavan Dham .We are establishing a community development center in Balangir and would like to converse few things regarding it .
As you may know, the Koraput-Balangir-Kalahandi (KBK) region in Orissa has become reduced to an acronym, KBK, similar to the pejorative BIMARU (states), a synonym for poverty and much else signifying despair. This is a region where the Great Indian Plateau subtends the coastal plains. It was formerly forest where hunter-gatherers predominated, and not a region where intensive modes of agriculture can be successful owing to the nature of the soil, the climate [extreme heat] and the vagaries of the monsoons in that particular area.

A mode of production that attempts to maintain the tree cover and yet produce food and an increasing store of value/income potential, especially with regard to mothers and their young children seems very important. Many already have donated land, 3 hectares in one location, 10 in another, to set up an integrated project that employs the age-old Indian system of rearing dairy cows on fodder derived from both agricultural byproducts as well as drought-proof multi-purpose trees like Zizyphus, Jackfruit, Flacourtia, Opuntia, Acacia etc. supplemented by alley cropping with legumes & millets.

Goal of integrated land management in semi-arid agro-ecosystem using native [endangered] cattle breed in tandem with best sustainable practices of land management to create self-supporting rain fed agro-ecosystem with multiple goals

(A) Real integrated and sustainable culture :

ü Value addition to labor of small farmer/subsistence farmer FAMILIES: A teaching farm containing the material & pedagogical resources for the surrounding community in the form of cattle & plant germplasm,
ü Farming technology, food science and child health & maternal health resources: e.g. greens, yellow root vegetables & fruit production year-round for blindness prevention,
ü Production of value-added dairy products for family income growth,
ü Comprehensive, integrated eco friendly-plant-soil-human vision.
ü Soil Carbon, Agricultural Productivity & Project Kamadhenu
ü Trapping carbon in soil key for protecting global food security, dealing with climate change

In the Soil Biogeochemistry & Soil Fertility Management Program, we work in a broad range of ecosystems spanning scales from nano-scale observations in soil micro aggregates to global carbon cycles. We are engaged in advancing new tools for the investigation of soils such as synchrotron-based spectroscopy as well as in studying soil carbon dynamics and implications for land use. Role of cattle in maintaining soil health, soil carbon in tropical soils, and high biological productivity under intensive cropping in semi-arid conditions and conserving N, P (Nitrogen, Potassium) sources ; as we are doing practical.

(B) Conservation & enhancement of soil fertility & productivity under hot, arid tropical conditions without dependence on market-based petroleum-rich inputs.

KAMDHENU
Main project

EK GRAM RE EK GOUSALA (Each village a cowshed)

Preparing herbal medicines from panchgavya(more than-175-types) for all diseases
Daily utilities-soap, shampoo, face-pack ,cosmetics-creams, powder ,etc
Composts (wormie,Nadef,Heritage-above-20 to 30 types),pesticides - Dry, liquid, paste(many types for many Diseases)

Cold drink from curd water, variety foods & sweets from milk, butter & cream.
Bio chemic product's:-

From our own compost famrer will cultivate land.
vegetables, Fruits, flower garden, Botonical-garden etc.
crops like:- rice, wheat, grams, nuts, Mustard, soyabin, sunfower, groundnut(for oil) bajra, corn, soyabin, turmeric, ginger, jeera, methi, cotton, cashew.

For Example Soap product:- The unemployed girls in villages can be employed for making soaps at home (by hand machines), they can make soap at home and get their remuneration by depositing it at Local goushala.
Like that many others – making incense stick, mosquito coil, making mats, bamboo products, making cotton products.

Overall objective in a glimpse-
v Cultivation of semi arid land, forestation
v Through integrated cropping maximum yielding
v Huge employment
v Production of compost, and compost gas plant
v Production of eco friendly, low cost daily use products
v Villege’s overall development

THE DAY IS NOT SO FAR WHEN PEOPLE WILL COME TO VILLEGE FROM TOWN FOR EMPLOYMENT.
A beckoning future is calling us, and your contribution is very precious for us.
So please plan the legal structure Kamdhenu USA, (Kamdhenu International based) who can help register Kamadhenu as LEGAL CHARITY, qualifying for tax-exempt donations.
Waiting for your precious suggestions & quick responce.

Thank you for all the wonderful works you are doing there. May God bless you and yours.
